TEACHERS!

teachers have a hard job. a super hard job. i felt like i should highlight some of the teachers that i remember (both bad and good)

Ms. Penaflor:
she was my first grade teacher and by far the COOLEST teacher ever. i don't think i learned much, but it was a hell of a good time. she played piano, knew sign language, played beatles songs for us...we even played jump rope IN CLASS. i mean, she was just a kick ass teacher.

Mr. Morenberg:
he was my science teacher in sixth grade. he was one of the weirdest people i've ever come across, but science teachers tend to be a little bit off most of the time. he had some of the weirdest habits and qualities. first of all, he was like a fucking, body builder. the guy was huge!!! (clearly he was compensating for something else) he had a picture of his wife on his desk and she looked like a freakin barbie doll. he drank lukewarm iced tea that was nearly black from all the sugar and mix..he kept snakes in the classroom too. but the coolest/weirdest thing that he did was sometimes, during tests he would go "hows everyone doing?" we'd say like, whatever...then he'd go "okay well, for the next one minute, take out your notebook and see what answers you can get" and we'd take out our books really quick and try to answer the questions we didn't know. i mean, thats pretty cool.

Mr. Shade (sigh)
o.m.g. mr. shade is the best looking man. like, THE BEST looking man. he is fine. like FINE. i can't stress enough how good looking this man is. i mean, adorable black curly hair, gorgeous white teeth, nice bod. i mean gorgeous. and just when u think he couldn't possible get any better, he was funny as hell! i would just go to his class and stare at him, listen to him talk, just admire him. and the best part of leaving middle school is getting to go back there and he actually HUGGED me. i almost died. the last time i went to OMS (my old middle school) to pick up my younger brother, i saw this beautiful god, and he said "hey lauren, how are you?" HE REMEMBERED MY NAMEEE!!! *sighhhh*

Mr. Incorvaia
he was my honors english teacher in 11th grade. he is the absolute definition of an asshole. that is one of the only ways i can describe him. i mean, despite that fact, he was actually a good teacher. one of the only teachers that made me feel like i was improving. i can't say that for most of my teachers in high school. but i do feel like he helped me prepare for college.

Andre Esters
ahh, Andre. he is my absolutely FABULOUS english professor here at Howard. i LOVE him. he is the best. his class discussions are hilarious, he is a verrry sharp dresser, and his class is one that i always look forward to. he revamped my love for reading and writing and i actually enjoyed the required reading for the class. of course all good things come to an end, so i only have three more weeks of being in his wonderful class and he might not even return next year (not that he would be my professor). either way, he changed my view of english and college in general. i love you andre esters!!

this blog was inspired my mommie who is going back to school to become a teacher!! pretty awesome..

Lobby Monitors

sometimes the seemingly small things make you the most angry...

at my school, when you enter my dorm hall, there are lobby monitors. their job is to check your school ID when you enter the building. yes, it IS annoying and a waste of my time but they ARE getting paid to do it. that fact alone should eliminate any bad attitudes that they have. ITS NOT LIKE THEY AREN'T GETTING PAID!!! regardless, they have bad attitudes and worst of all....

sometimes when i go up to their dumb little desks to show them my ID, they look at me with the blankest stare like they have no idea what i'm doing standing in front of them for. (they are supposed to find my name in their little book) but instead they just let that awkward 4 seconds go by before they say "you're good" or "go ahead".

I HATE LOBBY MONITORS.

so my plan to avoid them completely is to sneak in the door you aren't supposed to go through. altogether elminiating the lobby monitor's stupidity.

and another thing the lobby monitors do, is judge you...when you bring a guy into the building, they always look at you with this "ooooh i know yall two are about to fuck" face. and that really bothers me. especially because if i was gonna fuck someone, i would never bring them here to do it.

nigel

february 7th 1995..nigel was born. he was the cutest baby ever. he was white with red spots (lol), dark curly hair, and dark eyes. they later became forest green, then even later became light brown. now, a lot of sisters love their brothers, but i feel like i raised my little brother nigel. we were inseperable. i would bathe him, watch him while he slept, and i alwaaays wanted to hold him.

and honestly, when i'm here at school, and i think about coming home, i'm most excited to hang out with nigel. i miss when he was a baby, but its almost better now that hes (almost) all grown up, because i can have conversations with him.

the morning after

what constitutes cheating? like, there can be so many different definitions to it. is it sex? kissing? impure thoughts (lol)? well i think everyone has their own views of cheating and for me, i think its whatever u did that u wouldn't want ur partner to know about. so maybe i cheated? jesus i don't know.
*****

okay this idea came to my head about a week ago when I let a guy I didn't really know, sleep in my bed. we didn't have sex, we didn't even kiss. we barely touched! but for some reason, i felt extremely guilty, but i had to get over that. the relationship i was in ended, and i actually regretted not doing anything with that guy lol. either way, both little flings are over, and now i can focus on myself.
indepndence!

first things first

okayyyy well my name is lauren. my 'blogname' is shockfacee. well lauren, how did you come up with the name shockfacee? my friend and i like to make this "shockface" and we call it the ummm shockface. and i added the extra 'e' for emphasis. so thats all it is. i'll put up a picture so y'all can see what it looks like.

okay so, interesting facts about me. i am 18 soon to be 19, i attend Howard University in washington, dc.. i'm originally from long island. i am a mighty taurus lol. i got a tattoo yesterday. i also like piercings and i have 8. i am currently seeing a guy named lawrence. hes great and i love him very much. hes from chicago and he also goes to Howard. he likes designing clothes and one day he is going to be very famous.

right now im visiting with my older cousin shereen in north carolina for spring break. the only real exciting thing i did was get my tattoo which says "it is well with my soul" on my inner left wrist. its SICKKKKK i love it. all my life i was under the impression that tattoos were just unbearably painful. but i barely felt it. oh well.

i swear to god it'll get more interesting...im just kinda...not interesting today. whatev.
